Malcolm Chandler

Malcolm Chandler was born in London in 1944. He attended the West Sussex College of Art in Worthing in 1959-62. After leaving college he went directly into advertising and joined J. Walter Thompson as a visualiser/concept artist and at the same time produced a series of abstract paintings.

After a time Malcolm studied and developed the methods and materials of Old Master painting and began to restore and copy Old Master replacements for museums, universities and collectors.

His return to abstract painting offers an area to explore and a form of expression which includes all that has been learned and at the same time a freedom to discard everything in an unpremeditated search for the creative image.
