BOZ

BORN: 1954

My illustrations are about strong, sweeping lines, minimal colour and detail. The fashion illustrations evoke the glamour of fifties costume and are inspired by early years of watching black and white Holllywood movies and a love for the drama of fashion. I had a ten year stint working on fashion magazines at Conde Naste before becoming an illustrator and then a painter.

The black and white African illustrations have developed from sketch books kept during my travels in East Africa. I am fascinated by the ease and grace and in the way these beautiful people move.

Above all, I want to create a powerful atmosphere. I am interested in people, of all shapes and sizes, but the ones you happen to see here are mainly tall, elegant and glamorous!
