n 2005 Jennie completed a BA(Hons) degree in ‘Drawing For Fine Art Practice’. Since then she has been continuing her practice from her studio at home in Wiltshire.
Her work is very much sea and landscape based, drawing inspiration from the Wiltshire Downs, and the dramatic coastline of Cornwall, Dorset and The Shetland Islands. She likes to work out in the open to produce small drawings and paintings which are then used as a starting point to create large atmospheric paintings in the studio. Photography also plays an important part in the collecting of information to capture the ever changing colour and light on the landscape.
The process then takes over, and she enjoys experimenting with materials, using oil, acrylic and other mixed media to build up the layers of time, creating a painting that evokes an emotional response from the viewer.
Drawing is an important element in her work and the discipline of observation is always in the background. She attends regular life drawing Classes, and other courses, to develop her work and gain fresh ideas
She has exhibited in London and the South of England, at Art Fairs and Galleries. She also has work in many private collections.
