The human form is the central inspiration for Mark, an artist renowned for his superb technique and skilled draftsmanship. His work focuses on two main themes; the female figure and people from his travels in India.
The foundation of Mark’s work is drawing, for him the fundamental basis of art. This has translated not only across media to oils, pastels and print-making, but also across continents. Mark’s extensive experience of India, its culture and people infuses his work with the colour and vibrancy of the sub-continent. This intensity is to be found in his portraits of Indian men and women.
Mark, a Loughborough College of Art and Royal Academy Schools graduate, is rare among artists in having his works accepted to the Royal Academy Summer Exhibition for over twenty years and has the acclaim of being one of the top-selling artists in the last ten.
This exhibition represents Mark’s latest body of work.
