Bridget Lansley

After working in publishing and fashion, Bridget decided to fulfil her ambition to paint in oils. She developed her own distinctive style, her inspiration having developed from studying 20th century art under Robin Child. After a few years of painting she was invited to exhibit with Cricket Fine Art, followed by Fosse Gallery and later The Jerram Gallery.

Bridget's pictures are carefully composed and characterised by a strong sense of narrative. Painted from her imagination, Bridget's skill lies in producing simplified blocks of colour carefully balanced within the picture plane. The palette is controlled – muted tones are enlivened by surprising accents of colour – the balance of colour being fundamental to her work. With a gift for extracting the atmosphere of a scene, the paintings convey clarity and charm. Her subjects include still lifes, country scenes and people. Bridget's love of the shooting season has inspired sporting paintings for which she has become well known.

Bridget has had four solo shows with Cricket Fine Art (2016, 2019, 2021 and 2024) and her work is represented in collections in the UK, Ireland, Europe, America and Australia.
