Introducing a new gallery artist
Kirsty Wither
For the past three decades (having graduated from Gray's School of Art, Aberdeen, 1986-90) Kirsty Wither has perfected her handling of paint. Using brushes, palette knives and fingers, building up layers of colour and texture, Kirsty explains that her paintings are as much about the actual paint on the surface as they are about the subject matter. "Being in the studio is a mysterious place where the paint takes over from any set ideas I start with, and often unexpectedly leads me to a finished work."
