Christopher Neve in his book 'Unquiet Landscape: Places and Ideas in 20th-Century British Painting' (first published in 1990 but recently reissued in a new edition) suggests that painting is 'a process of finding out, and landscape can be its thesis'.


Looking at the pictures below, it's interesting to see how the artists have responded to the landscape - each painting being a reflection of their view of the world they live in.
