Nikki Stevens '...Gone Tomorrow'

19 - 30 May 2015

“. . . Gone Tomorrow” is an exhibition of large-scale paintings of animals by Nikki Stevens that highlight our obsession with data, its collection and the unraveling of the natural world.

Nikki creates her own blueprint of life by combining wild animals with man-made symbols and formula. Her use of

mathematical equations, scientific graphs and pictorial constraints symbolize her belief that the natural world is changing. Big cats no longer walk on the wild side; they roam freely amongst the signs and symbols of a carefully constructed society.

Since 1996 Nikki has been a full time artist and is best known for her large watercolour works of animals. She is a Prize Winner of the Royal Watercolour Society: Highly Commended Wildlife Artist of the Year Awards 2011 and 2012 and was selected for the prestigious NOA touring exhibition, 2014. She also has work in the collection of Freshfields Bruckhouse Derringer
