Shirin Tabeshfar was born in Tehran and received her early training at the Behzad School of Fine Art. Aged 18, Shirin moved to the UK where she spent two years studying combined arts in Bristol before continuing her education at the Bath Academy of Art, earning a BA in Graphic Design.
Shirin often structures her canvases through division, reflecting an ongoing interest in the tension between order and disorder. Using a pared-down visual language, Shirin's work exhibits elements of symbolism, spirituality and an acute sense of time.
‘I’m drawn to the tension between spontaneity and structure, between chaos and calm. That balance, that moment – when freedom meets order – is what I want to express.’
